day 188

I made it outside for a run! A hot run, mind you. It was already 91 degrees at 9:30, but I managed to make it 4 miles in 44 minutes. I stumbled upon this fella, which may have helped me run a little bit faster too. ;)
Happy slithery trails,
Jessy

Day 188

I strapped on my non-sleeping baby koala at 6:25 a.m. and walked in the cool, quiet of the morning. I stayed up way too late last night and then he had me up at 5:50 a.m. after being awake at 1:00 a.m. and 4:00 a.m. I knew there was NO WAY I'd want to do anything during naptime or after the boys' bedtime this evening, so it's done...out of the way!!! I do like being out in the morning, but I'd rather do it after a refreshing night of sleep!!

Day 187

I got out for my run at about 8:30 this evening. I don't usually like putting off my 30 minutes until the end of the day, but it was nice to have the temp cool enough to run outside comfortably. I did one mile today in 9:02. I'm kind of questioning whether I mapped that one right since we had a big spaghetti dinner tonight and I was feeling a little weighed down. Oh well...it couldn't have been that far off!
So, I got home from my run and checked my mail and to my surprise, I had a little something waiting for me!! Thank you friend...you are amazing too!! :)

day 187

3 mile run in 32 minutes. My knees are sore and my mind has not been in the game lately. It's hotter than blazes here but I really need to do a run outside. Maybe tomorrow. That would help. On the bright side, I'm not coughing as much but I'm still stuffy. I think I may be seeing a light at the end of the tunnel with this nasty cold.
Happy trails,
Jessy

Day 186

Yay for new shoes!!! I finally got into Lincoln Running Co. today...It was a great day for a run outside to break in my new loves...75 degrees, overcast, and a little drizzly! I did 2.51 miles in 25:18.

day 186

2 mile run and then walking out the rest of the time. Can't seem to find any energy today.
Happy trails,
Jessy

Day 185

I squeezed in 30 minutes on the treadmill between putting the boys down for the night and getting outside to watch some neighborhood fireworks!!
Happy 4th of July!!!

day 185

Yay! It's my favorite holiday! :) Too bad I can't stop coughing. We enjoyed a walk through Utopia city park, some tailgate hotdogs, and a spectacular fireworks show. The town of Utopia is amazing! The size of the fireworks show is completely based on how much money they receive through donations. This was our fourth, and final year (boo), and it was by far the best show yet! The fireworks lasted a whole hour!!! Everything really is bigger in Texas. I'm gonna miss this place. :(
Happy trails ya'll,
Jessy

Day 184

A fairly cool summer evening and a slow, easy walk with my guys!
I'm sorry you're still not feeling well...you have to feel better tomorrow; I know how much you love the 4th of July!!

day 184

As I lay in bed, my eyes slowly open as the light peeks through the windows. Today is the day, I'm sure of it. I will finally kick this cold and feel good again. I roll to my side, optimism brewing. My feet hit the floor, a "normal" healthy day awaits. And then I rise. My worst fears have been confirmed.
I still feel miserable.
Hopefully soon I'll have happy trails again,
Jessy

Day 183

I ran again today! Reality is kicking in that my brother's wedding is weeks away and I haven't lost near the weight I wanted to. I'm having a hard time getting motivated to eat less, so I guess I better step it up in the exercise department! :) I did 2 miles on the treadmill in 20:34.

day 183

A "rest" day....hallelujah! A nice, easy walk is just what the doctor ordered!
Happy trails,
Jessy

day 182

Halfway!
What an accomplishment. It does feel like we've been at this forever...sort of a love/hate relationship. ;) I think we should give ourselves a big ol' pat on the back for making it this far. I'm feeling kinda crummy today, low-grade temp, sore throat & no voice for the past 3 days. It's been tough getting the kids to listen/obey when they can't even hear me! In spite of my little pity party this afternoon I still needed to get 4 miles done so to the treadmill I went. I walked most of the time. I started to feel a bit guilty about this, like I was cheating on my training by not running, but quickly reminded myself that I am still hardcore if I run or walk! That made me feel a little better and after what seemed like forever (almost an hour) I was done. Now tonight I am going to put my feet up, take some cold medicine, and hopefully start to feel better soon.
Happy trails,
Jessy

Day 182

We're halfway there!!!!!
Well, I guess if you want to get technical, we'll be halfway there at 15 minutes into our workout tomorrow! But as of noon today, 2010 is officially half gone, so I'm gonna go with that. ;) I can hardly believe we're halfway thru this, yet at the same time I can't believe we still have a whole half a year to go!
I felt like I wanted to break some sort of record at our halfway point, so I decided I'd try and bring down my mile time. I completed it on the treadmill in 9:09 today!! I also officially signed up for the Lincoln Mile.
